'LOVE IT, LOVE IT'

I just had to laugh when I saw this card - isn't it cute!! I drive a red VW bug and I love it, too.
Thanks to Lee Ann Greff for sharing this card on her blog (http://flowerbug.typepad.com/).
I think I will make it my "signature" card for my male friend's birthdays. It would make a fun Father's Day card, also.
Thought for the day:

DAYS-TO-REMEMBER CALENDAR

It's not too early to start thinking about making Christmas presents for family and friends. This Days-to-Remember Calendar makes a great gift and is easy to make at just 3 workshops. My sister, Shirley, and I hold 3 workshop and make four pages each night. By holding the workshops mid-year it gives your ladies the rest of the year to collect pictures for their calendar. Remember that after the gift is used as a calendar the pages will fit into a 6" x 6" scrapbook and can be kept as a keepsake.

'BEAUTIFUL WINGS" BIRTHDAY CARD

This is a pretty card that I received for my birthday from my friend and fellow demonstrator, Karen H. Karen used the Thoughts and Prayers (#113252) stamp set and embellished the card with the pretty butterflies using the Beautiful Wings embosslits die from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I hope this embosslit die will find it's way into the new catalog coming out in July. The card could be used for any occasion by just changing the sentiment at the bottom.

I always love it when a new "Mini" comes out. It's so exciting to see all the new stamp sets and accessories. From today until August 31st you will be able to order from this catalog. Also, there is a wheel and stamp set that will be perfect for 'July 4th" cards and party favors. And, don't forget Dad by using the "King of the Grill" set.
If you would like a Summer Mini just email me at csoehler@bellsouth.net and I'll be glad to send you one.

"SWEET PEA" DESIGNER PAPER AND EMBELLISHMENTS

We learned earlier this week that the "Sweet Pea" designer paper and "Sweet Pea Stitched Felt" has already sold out from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I'm sure alot of you are sad, just like me.
These are some cards made by my friend, Bernice M., and designed by her demonstrator and my good friend, Karen H. The cards are made from the "Sweet Pea" designer paper and embellished with the "Sweet Pea Stitched Felt". Even though we can't use the same designer paper or embellishments we can use the design of the cards to CASE (Copy and Steal Everything) our own cards. Thanks Bernice and Karen for sharing your cards.

Be sure to check out all the other pretty stamp sets and accessories in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Tomorrow is the last day to order from this Mini.

"SUNDRESS CARD"

You can become a "fashion designer" by using your designer paper and the scallop circle (#113468) die to make this cute little sundress. By using a 6" x 6" piece of designer paper you will have enough left after cutting out the dress to put a strip down the edge of the inside that will show behind the scalloped edge on the front of the card. It's a great little card to make at a workshop.

Don't forget that we only have THREE days left to order from the Occassions Mini catalog. Click on the icon on the right to view the catalog.

MY BIRTHDAY

My birthday was on the 17th and this is the card that my sister, Shirley, sent me. Isn't it pretty. She made it with the 1 3/4" circle punch and folded the designer paper to make the center of the flower. You can find the directions posted on her blog on the 17th of April - http://thedailystamper.blogspot.com.

This is my granddaughter, Kalie. We usually celebrate our birthdays together since her birthday is on the 18th. When I took this picture she had stopped by to wish me a Happy Birthday. She was leaving for a dance competition in South Carolina. I can't believe she turned 14 and will be in high school next year. She is a pretty young lady and I'm very proud of her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHIRLEY

Today is my sister, Shirley's birthday. We both have been demonstrator with Stampin' Up! since 2005. We are a team and do our workshops, camps, and clubs together. We have met some wonderful ladies and formed many lasting friendships with our stamping ladies over the last 5 years.
This is the card I made for Shirley for her birthday. It was made from the wing and leaf and stem from the new bird punch in the Occassions Mini Catalog. This is a punch you will want to purchase as there are many pretty things other than the bird on a branch that you can make. Click on the shopping card to go to my Stampin' Up! website to see the punch.

ONE MORE "FIFTH AVENUE" CARD

As you can tell, I really enjoy using the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. This is a simple card that can be used in so many ways - Mother's Day, Birthday, Sympathy, Thinking of You, etc. The card is made with one of the new corner punches in the Occassions Mini Catalog. To step it up a notch just use the coordinating punch that was free in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. (Be looking for this punch in the new 2010-2011 Catalog. I feel sure it will be there.)

Remember that the Fifth Avenue Floral set can be purchased at a 20% discount until April 30th. Other sets that can be purchased with the discount are:

"TAKE ADVANTAGE OF APRIL PROMOTION"

I love the combination of yellow and black. I also love the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. You will see me feature it several times this month because it's featured in Stampin's Up!s "Two-Step into Spring" promotion. Through April 30th you can purchase this set along with 3 more two-step stampin' sets at 20% off. Check out the promotion by clicking on the shopping cart on the right of my blog.

This is a quick and easy card to make at your camp.To save time it's a good idea to go ahead and punch the borders on all of the cards except one. This gives the stamper a chance to use the punch but it's a real time saver, especially if you only have one punch. Also, don't forget to stamp something inside the card as well as something on the envelope. This takes your cardmaking to the "next level".

EVERYONE LOVE A "CHOCOLATE BUNNY"

This is another card that my sister, Shirley, designed for one of our camps. She stamped the chocolate bunny (#116980) from the Occasions Mini Catalog on Whisper White cardstock (#100730) and layered it on Chocolate Chip cardstock (#102128). The carrots in the background are made from the Pick-A-Petal (#115042) and Priceless (#115052) stamp sets. Pumpkin Pie (#105117) and Old Olive (#100702) stamp pads were used.

The Priceless and Pick-A-Petal sets are a "must have" - both sets are so versatile.

"SCRAPPY CARDS"

Aren't these pretty cards? My sister, Shirley, made them for one of our camps. She used four 1" scraps of designer paper for the bottom of the card and used the eyelet border punch (#113692) on a piece of whisper white cardstock (#100730) on the top of the card. Stampin' Up! ribbon was used as well as the little butterfly from the Flight of the Butterfly (#111564) stamp set.
What a great way to use your designer paper scraps!!!

This past Sunday our minister's sermon was on "Share Your Talents". While sitting in church I thought about what talent I could share.
I love to sew so I have decided to make baby quilts and donate them to the wonderful children's hospitals that we have in Charlotte.

HAPPINESS IS -----------"

Happiness is seeing your granddaughter become a creative young lady.
My youngest grandchild, Jessie, is almost 9 years old and is very creative. She loves all sorts of paper crafts, especially making cards. She has even made several pillows on the sewing machine, with Nana's help.
Jessie loves to give her projects away. She made the St. Patrick's Day cards for her Dad and her two aunts and their families. She made the pillows for one of her aunts and another one for her Dad.
It's so rewarding to see you grandchildren enjoy some of the same things that you do.

TOP NOTE EASTER TREAT

This is a cute and simple Easter treat that you can make in just a few minutes. A small white bag is attached to two Top Note cutouts. Then I used the "A Good Egg" stamp set, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches and the scallop punch to embellis the little purse. Finish it off by trying ribbon on the handle.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

My friend, Linda, sent me this pretty St. Patrick's Day card.
Linda used her Big Shot and one of the Perfect Details Texturz Plates to emboss the Whisper White cardstock. Then she used her Garden Green marker and put a little dot at each of the points - this just made the card!!!
She used her Heart Punch to punch out 4 pieces of Designer Paper to make the 4-leaf clover. She even gave me a gold coin behind the "Pinch Proof" (retired) stamp by using the Brushed Gold Cardstock.

"MY FAVORITE FLOWER"

Daffodils are my very favorite flowers. When they bloom I know that Spring can't be far behind.
When I saw this stamp set, Abundant Hope, in the Occassions Mini Catalog I knew I had to have it.
This card was also made at our "GG" Stamper's Club last week (see yesterday's post). The "spotlighting" technique was used; therefore, there was very little coloring. Also, the new punch that is FREE in the Sale-A-Bration catalog was used to give a pretty scalloped trim border. If you would like dimensions for the card just email me at csoehler@bellsouth.net.
